What to Do on the Day

Application Eligibility Approval Applications will be accepted. If you are applying, please bring the following documents.

Required Documents

Document proving that the applicant and guardian live or plan to live in the prefecture

(Certificate of residence, etc., showing the addresses and relationship of the applicant and guardian, such as a resident record (juminhyo))

Document proving completion of 9 years of school education abroad

(Foreign junior high school graduation certificate, etc., will be verified using the original.)

The approval application is not the end! The Application Eligibility Approval Application is not itself the application to a high school. After your eligibility is approved, you must still apply to a high school as follows.

Apply to a High School

Common Selection (Excluding Secondary Recruitment)

Once your eligibility for Kanagawa public high schools is approved, you can apply through the online application system. For Special Recruitment, additional procedures are also required. Details

Common Selection (Secondary Recruitment) and Part-time/Correspondence Split Selection

Receive the "Application Eligibility Approval Certificate" from the Prefectural Board of Education and submit the "Application Eligibility Approval Certificate" along with the admission application at the intended high school's reception desk.

Those Whose Parents Do Not Live in the Prefecture

Part-time/Correspondence Only

Required Documents

For the address verification document, only the applicant's own is required.

Please submit the Application Eligibility Approval Application Form for Part-time/Correspondence (Form No. 18).

Other Information

For part-time/correspondence schools, you are eligible if you live in the prefecture, or if you live outside the prefecture but have a workplace within the prefecture.
